CSKA 2018/19 AWARDS NIGHT ROUND UP

A cracking night out, a few happy Liverpool fans, and a sleeping Danny Chapman. But who won what?

Players' Player of the Season CSKA Carnabys: Jon Brice

A fantastic season for Player Manager Jon Brice who won the respect of his teammates for the FIFTH time!
Brice produced the goods consistently throughout the season, and can look back fondly on a terrific season that earned him 6 Man of the Match awards, 10 Goals and 3 Assists. There were a few memorable performances, none more so than coming off the bench away at Trinderbox with CSKA 0-3 down and just 20 minutes left on the clock. Brice stuck himself up front and had a hand in all the goals as CSKA fought back to 3-3, and eventually draw the match 4-4 in injury time, a performance that also saw him win the Individual Performance of the Season Award.
Brice also bagged himself a hat-trick in CSKA's Performance of the Season, at home to runaway leaders and eventual Champions, Dunton & Broughton.
Brice also found himself nominated for Goal of the Season, following his sublime chip from 40 yards against Gaunt in December.

1st: Jon Brice 27%
2nd: Danny Chapman 25%
3rd: Chris McCafferty 16%

Players' Player of the Season CSKA Carnabys Reserves: Damian Wright

New signing Damian Wright took to CSKA like a duck to water, and his ability was evident even in early pre-season, with a beautiful long range strike against Blaby Wanderers. This was just one of many long range efforts, that saw him nominated several times for Goal of the Season, and probably took the award away from himself by having so many different contenders!
Daymo bagged 8 Goals and 14 Assists, and received 4 Man of the Matches and was no doubt pivotal to CSKA Reserves having their best season to-date.

1st: Damian Wright 43%
2nd: Amit Patel 16%
3rd: Ashley Walker 8%

Manager's Player of the Season CSKA Carnabys: Danny Chapman

Having reverted to his main role as Centre Forward, and losing the No.3 shirt, Danny Chapman began 2018/19 in stunning form, with back-to-back hat-tricks in the first two games of the season. Injury at home to Gaunt in December put his goals on hold temporarily (he had 12 by this point), and CSKA struggled during his injury, scoring just 4 goals in 5 games and losing every one of them.
Chapman's return against Trinderbox in February yielded 2 late goals, and he would bag 5 more in the remaining fixtures to end the season on 19.

1st: Danny Chapman
2nd: Sean Brown
3rd: Rich Augustus

Manager's Player of the Season CSKA Carnabys Reserves: Damian Wright

With 43% share of the votes in the Player's Player, it came as no surpise that Daymo recieved the votes from his own managers this season.

1st: Damian Wright
2nd: Amit Patel
3rd: Steve Maggs/Ashley Walker

Most Improved Player CSKA Carnabys: Rich Augustus

Having been replaced at the start of the season by Gaz Walker in goal, Rich fought back superbly to win his place back and performed some memorable displays along the way.
His heroics in the away game at Dunton & Broughton kept CSKA in the lead almost all the way to half-time, with some remarkable one-on-one saves from the top scorers in the division.

1st: Rich Augustus 40%
2nd: Sean Brown 20%
3rd: Manni Rai 10%
=    Andy Pettitt 10%
=    Adam King 10%
=    Danny Chapman 10%

Most Improved Player CSKA Carnabys Reserves: Matt Garner

Matt was receiving plaudits from his Managers throughout the season, so it came as no surprize when Matt picked up his first ever CSKA award.
He's still searching for that illusive first goal, but Matt picked up 2 MotM awards this season and firmly cemented his place in the back four with the most appearances in the Reserves (20).

1st: Matt Garner 46%
2nd: Ryan Horn 25%
3rd: Charles Clarkson 8%
=    Liam Kennedy 8%

Best Newcomer CSKA Carnabys: Brad Parker

Having began the campaign in the Reserves, Brad's ability on the ball and in front of goal was clear to see, and it was obvious that he would eventually be a first team player.
His debut came away at Desford, coming off the bench. And there would be 2 more sub appearances before his first start against Gaunt at home where he scored his first competitive goal for the team.
No doubt his best game was in late March against Enderby & District. Where he broke the club record of goals in a single game by scoring 5 in a 9-3 victory.

2nd: Nathan Tate 34%
3rd: Tom Roalfe 23%
